It's easy to get caught up in everyday life with bills to pay, meals to make, errands to run and jobs to do.  Long-term financial planning appears too time-consuming and overwhelming, and often gets put off.  Years later, it can seem too late to adequately prepare for the future.

Sound financial planning is vital for families with children with developmental disabilities.  And, the State of Washington made it easier when it established the Developmental Disabilities Endowment Trust Fund in 1999.  Now called the Life Opportunities Trust, this public-private partnership creates a a stable resource to enhance the quality of life for people with developmental disabilities.
